Methodology
Thomson Reuters 2015 India Innovation Awards is based on research and analysis done using the Derwent World Patents Index, the world’s most trusted and authoritative value-added patent database. Data from 2010-2014 was used for the analysis.
Four metrics were used to assess the level of innovation of candidate companies and identify the top innovators and the awardees.
•Volume of patents
•Grant success rate
•Extent of globalization
•Influence of innovation

The threshold for inclusion in the Top 50 Indian innovators is at least 25 patents published during the period 2010-2014.

Please note: Previous three year Thomson Reuters Innovation Awards winners, though included in the analysis for identifying the Top 50 Indian innovators, have not been included in the analysis for identifying the Top 6 award winners for this year.
